Dancing with the boys February 13, 2008

The second annual Mother-Son Valentine Dance Saturday was a swinging success. The event, organized and produced by Bonner Springs Parks and Recreation Department, was held at the Community Center gymnasium. Following dinner, a local magician entertained the guests. But dancing was the real deal for moms and sons alike.

Trying to keep up with two partners, Kim Nelson was more than happy to keep in step with her sons Cole, 8 and Sam, 11.

Dancing to “YMCA,” 6-year-old Tyler Sole had his own style of moves while his mother, Amanda Sole, stuck to more traditional steps.

Another activity after dancing was a competition of unwrapping a sucker with large white gloves on as Tyler Sole tried to do.
