Millennium of Marriages March 28, 2007

A total of nearly 1,000 years of marriage for local couples was celebrated with a three-course meal last week at the Bonner Springs Community Center. The event was hosted by the Bonner Springs Senior Center.

Nancy Johnson directed the couples to their tables as they made their entered into the dinning room. Seventeen couples in all attended the event.

The meeting room at the Community Center was transformed into an elegant dinning area with a canopy of soft lights for the couples to enjoy their evening.

Volunteers worked an assembly line filling dinner plates with pineapple, potatoes and vegetable medley. The thirteen kitchen volunteers worked like a well-oiled machine; despite the fact the kitchen had some plumbing problems including no running water.
