Tiblow Days Classic August 30, 2006
From World War I re-enactors to dancing flowers, the 2006 Bonner Springs Tiblow Days parade and celebration had something for everyone.
Jim Jenkins and other members of Olsen-McGraw-Thompson-Goins VFW Post 6401 color guard lead the parade.
Hitching a ride on the Bonner Beautiful float, Betty Rehm was a flower waving in the wind along the parade route.
While Shawn Greer of Basehor kept his eyes on his son, Gage Greer kept his eyes on the parade from atop his dad's shoulders.
As the parade passed him nearby, 3-year old Garrett Beashore covered his ears to block out the noise. The sound was augmented by tubes in his ears, according to his mother standing behind him.
Megan Plum of Bonner Springs had her little cowgirl hand full with Chickadee, a miniature pony in the parade.
Lesli Trout of Edwardsville wears her Elvis costumn back-to-back as she was handing out candy during the parade.
Ben White of Overland Park was the final person to come in in the Tiblow 5-Mile Run before the parade. White was in tow with his two dogs, Angel and Pippin, the entire way.
Exhibitor Nick Meyer of Weir, Kansas, was cutting wood block names and other craft items on display.
Emerson Brazee of Bonner Springs checked out a 1932 Ford Sedan during the car show on Oak Street Saturday. The red restored hot rod belongs to Connie Vickers of Basehor.
