BSHS swim team imroves times at East

The Bonner Springs girls swim team continued its season Thursday at Shawnee Mission East.
Overall, the team swam faster times in the meet, coach Tierney Thompson said.
Early in the year, she has been pleased with her team's performances.
Swimmers are turning in faster times and working hard in practice.
Bonner Springs effort and focus paid dividends during the third meet of the year, a meet in which the pace was very fast - sometimes swimmers only had two minutes between races.
Swimmer Emily Herre led the way, placing first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke. Kaley Withers had Bonner Springs other first place finishes in the 50 freestyle and finished second in the 500 freestyle.
In addition, Bonner Springs relay teams also swam well with the 400-yard freestyle placing second and the 200 medley finishing third overall.
Other BSHS individual performances include Aubree Miller finishing second in the 100 breaststroke and fourth in the 100 butterfly. Lyndie Kill finished sixth in the 100 backstroke and Laura Rink placed seventh in the 200 individual medley.
