Chamber honors NHS students
Education is the foundation of the future, and learning does not stop with the granting of a diploma, a Kansas City, Kan., educator told high school seniors here last week.
"Life is the only class where the test is given before the lesson" said J.D. Rios, assistant superintendent of the Kansas City, Kan., School District.
Rios was the speaker at the Bonner Springs/Edwardsville Chamber of Commerce luncheon Thursday.
National Honor Society members from the senior class of Bonner Springs High School were recognized for their academic achievements.
Rios spoke to Chamber members, guests and students about their accomplishments so far and their future. His speech was divided into three parts. He addressed the first part of his speech to the adults where he emphasized the importance of family and community. The second part of his speech was directed at the soon-to-be high school graduates.
