Tourney a winner on 2 counts
Bonner Springs Parks & Recreation Director Skip Dobbs declared the first Mayor's Cup golf tournament a success.
The April 20 tournament served as a fundraiser for the department's scholarship program, which allows low-income children to participate in programs and sports offered by the department.
"It took everyone working together to make this a successful tournament," Dobbs said.
The tournament raised $1,654.
"Not only were we able to raise money," Dobbs said, "but now more people are aware of the scholarship fund."
People may make donations to the fund by coming by the Community Center at 200 East Third St. Parents may also come by the Community Center to fill out the forms to use the scholarship fund for their children.
