The Edwardsville Christian Church has begun playing host to an event popular in communities around the country, an open-air farmer's market at the church parking lot, 110 N. Fourth St. The market will continue at 7 a.m. every Saturday through Oct. 25. Pat Roland, coordinator of the church's after-school program and organizer of the market, said the farmers market is meant to be a “service to the people of Edwardsville.” There will be a $10 fee for having a booth, and the market will be open rain or shine, Roland said. Also, sellers of items other than farm produce are welcome to vend their wares. Those interested in setting up a booth at the market should call Roland at (913) 422-7874.
